Loretta is the Co-Founder and Partnerships Manager at Free to Feed, a not-for-profit social enterprise championing people who have sought refuge and asylum in Australia. Free to Feed’s advocacy is delivered through food-based initiatives – cooking classes and events and is also the parent of Now to Launch, a business incubator supporting entrepreneurs to realise their culinary dreams.
Loretta is passionate about social enterprise because it presents us with an opportunity to use our everyday consumer decisions to drive social change.
We'll kick the evening off with a few questions and then open up the discussion, inviting the audience to ask Loretta questions about her career/life journey. No question is "dumb" at Basic, we encourage the most simple of questions to the most complex. If you'd prefer not to speak on the night, you can submit a question beforehand and we'll ask it for you.
There will be an honesty bar (cash only) selling beers from Sample, wines from Blackhearts & Sparrows and water by Antipodes. 50% of bar profits will be donated to Free to Feed.
